Postcard views of Afton in the early days
A hand colored Fred Harvey Postcard showing the Frisco depot.  This depot was completed in 1914 and is the second depot on this site.  At this time, Afton was a very busy town with over 20 passenger trains coming through the town as well as many freights.  The hotels and restaurants did a thriving business in those days.
This card was titled "Post Office Block, Afton, Ok" and is from about 1910.  Many of these cards were sold at the depot and also at the restaurants and hotels.  Afton was popular with the post card manufacturer and several beautiful cards were made by Fred Harvey, who published many of these cards.
First National Bank of Afton is shown in this early postcard.  This building still stands but is much different looking today.
Great old postcard view of the Dawson Hotel all flag draped.  Some big time politician was probably to visit Afton and stay there.
