Ottawa County Bridges

Lover's Leap and the Devil's Promenade Bridge

This old bridge over Spring River was one of the first of it's type in Ottawa County and is similar to the Steppe's Ford bridge over the Neosho River.  Here, the giant "Lover's Leap" rock is located.  This is Indian land and the famous Indian pow-wow is held near here every year in July.  This bridge was replaced with a new concrete structure several years ago.

This early bridge spanned Tar Creek and is probably located at what is now Steve Owens Blvd. but could be at locations further upstream.
