Building The Railroad Bridge
In this rare old photo, the M. O. & G. railroad bridge is being constructed.  The crane that was used to lift the bridge parts was apparently powered by steam as evidenced by the boiler on the crane platform.  M. O. & G. Railroad was later called K. O. & G. Railroad or Kansas, Oklahoma & Gulf Railroad.  Possibly the "M" stood for Missouri in this 1912 photo.  The cliffs along the Neosho River are on the west side of the river.  Photo courtesy of L. G.
