As the auction nears the end, buyers load their trucks with bargains from the buildings shown in the picture.  Five old buildings were loaded with all sorts of old stuff and much of it sold for very little.  This may be the last event ever for Picher's Main Street.
About 1960, I took my first photo of Picher and this view shows the same area as the views in the previous pictures.  In this view, which is looking north on Main Street, the building that later became Troy's Swap Shop is north of the building with the sign that looks like a figure "9".  Picher's Main Street went from this to a scene of old buildings and desolation in less than 40 years.s.
