Picher Main St. About 1920
Early days view of Picher's Main Street looking north.  This is in the area that was condemned about 1950 due to a tremendous mine cavern located under it.  This view is from 1920 or earlier and shows the primitive conditions in the mining boom town. This view shows the east side of the street in a view looking south on Main Street.  Here we can see the original post office at Picher and also a photography studio next to it.  This studio is likely the source for all of these wonderful old views of Picher's Main street.  This photo is part of a larger postcard photo that has been enlarged.
