Cardin, Oklahoma

A small locomotive pulls a string of ore cars to the field shaft derrick at the Rialto mine at Cardin. They are then filled from the hopper and pulled over to the mill where they are pulled up the inclined track and dumped into the hopper at the Rialto Mill.  You can see part of the inclined track at the right of the picture.  This picture was taken during May, 1926.
Another view of an ore train on the way to the mill.
Potter Station was located west of Cardin and operated by the Northeast Oklahoma Railroad.  This station was used as a stop for N E O busses and also as an office building for NEO railroad  freight shipment routing and other management activities.  1948 view.  Photo courtesy of Ed Conrad and from Frisco Railroad archives.
